I've been coming here for decades. Never thought to write a review but this place is fricking awesome! Best banh mi in the area and their bbq chicken is always my go to plate if I'm feeling extra hungry. I don't think I've ever had anything bad here. Hell, I always go for the banh mi but get like four or five other things from the hot food section. The lady at the counter remembers me from years ago and always has a smile. It's just a small shop but it's always busy during lunch. It's well worth the wait. This place is the rage! After reading a bad review, I had to write something in support of this place. All the bad reviews I see are full of shit. One person said he cut the roof of his mouth on the bread...eat slower then. It's a French roll that's freshly made...they always cut your mouth if you don't know how to chew. Maybe you need to hydrate your mouth or do what seasoned banh mi eaters do...crush the sandwich a bit. I hate it when people write bad reviews because they are incompetent themselves. Come here and you won't be disappointed. If you are one of those dumbasses who don't know how to chew, get the rice plate instead.

Found this place on Yelp to bring some sandwiches for a family outing at Ardenwood Farms. There is nothing fancy about this place but the food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. We initially came here to get sandwiches but we also got tempted by some of the counter foods especially when we saw other people in line order them. We ended up getting the following: Lemon grass tofu banh mi Special combo banh mi Shrimp with veggies rice roll Fried egg rolls Banh phu the dessert The sandwiches had lots of pickled veggies which I like and they were about 10 long which is a decent size. All items were very good and recommended. Give this small family restaurant a try!

Always a great meal any day of the week (except Wednesday)! Get a banh mi sandwich or a lunch box if you're feeling more rice/noodles than a sandwich. If you're want something different, get yourself a banh cuon looks funny for the uninitiated, but so tender and tasty with good ingredients. Family run, service with a smile--can't complain about that! The line can get long later in the week, so early birds get in and out quick. Mondays are great days to go. Oh, and they open early, so if you're looking to picnic somewhere, banh mi can be your jam.

YES. Solid location to get some delicious banh mi! The special combo with extra pate is my go to order and Cam Huong does a good job in their banh mi. Friendly customer service. Price is reasonable. I went on a Sunday afternoon so there was no line but I did noticed that a lot of the hot items were sold out. So if you want to get other food to try out, come early. I think this store is mainly for take out since there is no seating available. Simple interior with a beverage/dessert fridge in the back. Overall, I would recommend getting your banh mi fix here.

Location: Union City, off Alvarado A Senter Rd, Ambiance and Decor: Simple banh mi spot. Ordering counter at the front. No inside sitting. Order to go. Service: Friendly smile. During my visit, there were several patrons coming in for their standard order. Love seeing that the workers knew their orders right when they walked in. It is cash only, so bring a minimum of $7. $12 if you planning to buy a drink. Food: There are 10 different choices for their banh mi. I ordered the #6 which was the combo special. The bread was nice a crispy with a soft texture on the inside. The meat serving was plentiful with stacks of veggies and enough jalapeños to keep wanting more. Drinks: i have yet to try their café su da, but will on my second visit. Overall: 4/5 totally worth the visit. Prices are inexpensive and very manageable.

Parking: Lots of parking, given it's in a shared plaza. Food: #6 sandwich (special combo which was $7) (4/5). They said it's a combination of #1 (pork combo) and #3 (pork cake) sandwiches. Bread was crispy, buttery, and soft on the inside. Really good bread . The pate, mayo, veggies, and protein were all good together. I realized I am less of a fan of the pork cake. Next time I may try the #1 pork combo sandwich instead. Fresh spring roll (3.5/5): this was okay. The peanut sauce was okay but not like other ones I've had before. Service: Service was very fast. We received our sandwiches very quickly. The spring rolls were premade.

BBQ pork banh mi no onions is my go to! The ladies already know my order even when I haven't been in months! Love the hot food section. Fried rice and their chicken is so good, also their squid and steam rice. Weekends they have banh beo. Always get the fried cha steam pork. Spring rolls are so good here! I try not to get carried away here but it's hard not to. Food here is like food at grandmas or my parents house. Plenty of parking, shares with other businesses. Lines during lunch can get really long. Most people order ahead. You'll notice a crowd outside while they wait for their order to be called. If you're not getting banh mi and just ordering from the steam tray, it's quicker.

Still amazing. And still the best in the East Bay. Like Carolen mentioned, prices have gone up over time and with inflation. But they accept Venmo now, however I still bring ca$h.

Food - this is my second time back! i've tried their combo banh mi and pork bahn mi as well. you can't go wrong with either. the bread is supppper crispy which I absolutely love. it tastes like it's fresh out the oven. The meat is also really well flavored and not too dry. Portions are good for the cost of $6.50. I believe they are cash only! Service - super quick. I've only come on the weekends, so it's usually busy but food doesn't take too long. The most I've waited was probably less than ten mins. Ambiance - super small hole in the wall shop. No seating and can get crowded if there is a line.

I came to this area because the portion size of the sandwiches are spot on compared to other places where they serve bigger ones. These sandwiches can take a little while to make based on how long I waited. I got Grilled Pork Sandwich. The bread is hard leaving all crumbs all over the paper, but it doesn't really bother me. Pork and vegetables are really juicy though not gonna lie
